Spring/Summer 2021 Swimwear and Resort – DESTINATION COLOMBIA: Runway Show

Posted on 2 min read

Some of the most promising Colombian fashion brands presented their Spring/Summer 2021 swimwear and resort collections last Saturday, November 14th, 2020 at the Miami Design District presented by PARAISO Miami Beach. The brands that were presented are known for their quality, as their raw materials are produced in the country and they have all found their own identity that make each brand recognizable in their pieces.

“Colombia has become one of the most fertile and dynamic territories on a global level for swimwear and beach wear experimentation: that’s why we decided, together with PARAISO Miami Beach, to present the most innovative Colombian brands to buyers and the national press through this multifaceted fashion initiative and an experience, DESTINATION Colombia.” — Procolombia president Flavia Santoro.

The runway showcased 12 Colombian designers, some were household brands such as OndadeMar and Encantadore, but also with new up-and-coming designers to keep an eye on in the swimwear and resort wear industry such as Carolina Estefan, Praia, Mola Mola, Ancora, Palmacea, Nawa, and Mar de Rosas.

In the spirit of the new normal, swimwear and resort wear enthusiasts were able to watch the fashion show live through Procolombia’s official fashion Instagram account @ColombianFashionTrends and www.paraisomiamibeach.com

Stitch Lab, the luxury online retail space for Colombian fashion hosted a media reception serving delicious mimosas and bellinis by Miami Cocktail Company. Silvia Cobos and Jetlagmode accessorized the show with shoes, bags and accessories all made using sustainable handmade techniques, while Junior & Hatter Wynwood’s stylish salon and its most sought after stylists created the runway hair looks.

Here are some of my favorite looks from the night..

More about PARAISO Miami Beach:

“DESTINATION Colombia is one of PARAISO Miami Beach leading initiatives for creating new business opportunities for the Colombian brands in the US market, and it opens a window to a brand new way of connecting these brands with both media and industry audience.” – Natalija Dedic Stojanovic, Creative Director of PARAISO Miami Beach.

In July 2018, PARAISO opened its doors in Miami Beach to unveil a brand-new breed of experiential festival that creatively united the world’s favorite fashion, wellness, beauty, and lifestyle brands. A multi-day fashion platform centralized in Collins Park and stretching to all surrounding areas of South Beach champions the core values of innovation, originality, and discovery through must-see events, imaginative activations, exclusive launches, runway presentations, and collaborations in design, music, wellness, art, and social media.

With over 40 events in four days, PARAISO 2019 brought a uniquely elevated and unified event showcase to the globally recognized Miami scene. Runway shows with top designers and style- setting supermodels and celebrities, educational panels with respected business leaders, cutting- edge fitness and wellness programming, and surprise music performances with headlining talent and pop-up conceptual retail experiences quickly went viral, with event imagery capturing the world’s attention.
