New Beauty Technology for the Usual Tech-Savvy Fashionista. This new item will keep you safe wherever you go, especially when on vacation. Sometimes we forget to put on sunscreen or even think about the causes, but with this new product it can help make aware how crucial it is to be safe in the sun. Everyone knows L’Oréal as a cosmetics company, but now they are delving into the tech world.

L’Oréal has made an effort to integrate tech with the beauty industry by debuting the first ever UV skin patch. This patch would be the first-ever stretchable skin sensor that is designed to monitor UV exposure. The patch has 5 layers of micro-thin electronics that measures your UV exposure, and is shaped as a heart.

If it detects that you are getting too much exposure it will notify you via smartphone and offer you personalized recommendations. The idea behind the product is to give people information on what they should be doing to protect themselves from harsh exposure.

The patch can be put on exposed skin and sunscreen can be applied over it. The heart on the sticker is made of 15 different boxes that change color when they are exposed to UV rays. The patch works with a mobile app, so when the user is ready to see their UV reading all they have to do is take a picture of the heart and upload it. The patch is also disposable and can be worn up to five days.

The company is planning to give the product to customers for free so people have a chance to get used to it. They have also made more plans to 3D print human skin so they can avoid testing products on people and animals.

Once available to the public, which will be later in the year, this is what it will look like.

It’s a fascinating product! I will say your sub pop up is a little annoying though. Might wanna tweak it so it shows up just a tad less. Much love from April at shoveitmag.com
