7 Steps to Planning the Perfect Getaway
7 Steps to Planning the Perfect Getaway. If you know me, you know that I am a very unpredictable person. One week I could be in New York and the next thing you know I’m in Dubai. Planning trips on a whim is one of my specialties. These are some of the things that I do when I plan my trips from one day to another. If there’s one thing these steps can provide you is a good time and a nice tan.
1. Pick a destination
Before you buy your plane ticket, you might want to know where you’re going in the first place. Picking a destination all has to do with how much time you have to travel, and how much you’re willing to spend. If you only have a week off, you can bet Australia is not an option. Since Spring Break is coming up I definitely recommend going to the Bahamas or even Mexico if you’re looking to have fun.
2. Make living arrangements
Depending on how long you are gone, don’t forget to plan on who will help you while you are gone. If you have any pets, ask one of your family members to take care of them or check them into an pet boarding facility, which I like to call a “Pet Hotel”. Find someone that can check up on your house while you’re gone. If you leave for a month make sure to have someone get your mail and mow your lawn, all important details you shouldn’t forget!
3. Check for last minute deals
You can always find great deals online, but you have to have the right site! If you get lucky you could find a package online that offers airfare and a hotel stay. Researching really helps in this department because there is always a special offer out there that will save you money. One website that I’ve used before is airbnb, which helps you find vacation rentals that will sometimes be cheaper than a hotel.
4. Book a flight
This seems pretty obvious, but definitely important, of course! My favorite airline has to be Virgin Airlines, it all depends on where you go though and how many people you wanna go with. You could always charter a jet if you are going with a group for a fun vacation. A great place to charter a jet would be at Blue Star Jets, where you can choose from over 5,000 aircrafts. Blue Star Jets also has a great travel agent that can help you with all your other needs.
5. Find a place to stay
Once you have your flight and have all the dates set, start looking for a place to stay during your trip. This is very important, especially when you are staying in a place you’ve never been to before. The first thing you should do is research the good neighborhoods, so you can find a hotel or rent a place near there. Also, research the bad neighborhoods as well, so you know the places you want to avoid.
6. Make an agenda
This would be the time to purchase all the tickets for tours and anything else you would like to do. The best way to find things to do would be to research all the tourist attractions. But, if you’ve already been to the place you are going to, then clear your schedule and relax. It would also be a good time to make a checklist of everything you are bringing on your trip.
7. Have fun
Make sure you are all packed and ready to go. Have your passport in hand, if you are going out of the country and definitely don’t forget your license or another important travel document you might need. Get on your flight and enjoy!
