City Guide: Holiday’s in New York
After a three hour flight from Miami to New York, the first stop was Barney’s, of course! Since the holiday’s are here, the number one thing to see in New York is the windows of all the big shops, which are decorated with all the latest designs. When I got to Barney’s, I went straight for the shoe rack and ogled all of the beautiful shoes I wish I was wearing. After doing some shopping, I took a tour to the little cafe in Barney’s to get some brunch. I decided on a delicious sounding frui platter that came with yogurt, YUM!
A few shopping bags later, I make it back to my hotel to see where the night will take me.
With my Alice and Olivia knee high heels, Burberry scarf, and my favorite BCBG trench coat I was ready to go. The first stop was Cipriani’s which is a famous Italian restaurant that invented the famous drink, the Bellini. It’s original location is in Venice, Italy and it is called “Harry’s Bar”. I’d never been to the New York location and was shocked at how similar it looked to the rest of them. It really made me feel like I was in that tiny bar in Venice, Italy. The food was delicious, of course, and the bellini’s, better!
The famous Bellini, which is made of Prosecco and peach puree.
After dinner, I headed to one of the most talked about places in New York. The beautiful Baccarat Hotel Bar which features Baccarat glass and Baccarat chandeliers. When you order a drink, the glasses are also Baccarat.
The next day I went to Sarabeth’s for brunch which is a nice place on the Upper East Side. The service was good, but the food was better. The only downside is that there is a huge line out the door, but the wait is worth it. Pro tip: wait around by the bar to see if someone leaves so you can take their place instead of waiting for a table.
That night I went to see “On Your Feet!”, which is the story of how Gloria and Emilio Estefan rose to stardom. The play was amazing, filled with good music, and incredible actors. The actors at one point jumped off the stage and took people from the audience to dance with them.
The next day, I had brunch at Bagatelle. The whole theme of the restaurant makes you feel like you are in St. Tropez. They have a DJ that plays good music and waiters that bring out champagne bottles with sparkler toppings. It was a cool restaurant to have brunch in and the Nutella french toast is delicious.
After brunch it was back to the basics, shopping.
Thats how my NYC trip went!
