City Guide: Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. has always been at the top of my list when it comes to traveling. It has always been a place I have wanted to visit. Since one of my good friends lives there I thought it would be nice to go visit her and check it out. Seeing the changing of the seasons was probably one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen, especially in D.C. I feel like there is so much to see here that I would have to come back to really see all the monuments and nice restaurants.

There are so many monuments and museums that all tourists have to see at least once which I’m sure you all know about; The Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, Abraham Lincoln Memorial, The White House & many more. So I won’t be focusing as much on those.

One of my days in D.C. I spent it with my friend going around town using Ofo, which is an innovative bicycle sharing company. It’s all in app where users locate a bicycle and pay via their smartphones. On the app you can look to see where Ofo bikes are placed and all you have to do is find the bike and scan it! You get one hour free if it’s your first time on the app, but for regulars it’s only $1 an hour! Super cool concept!

Anyway! Here are some of my favorite restaurants,

Le Diplomat:

At this restaurant, I had the most delicious steak and mashed potatoes in my life. Truly an amazing dinner, that really makes you feel as if you are in France.

Georgetown Cupcakes:

Ok, this might be a little touristy. But, I always loved the show DC Cupcakes  so I had to go!

Peacock Cafe:

While wandering around town for a bit, I was in the mood for Italian and found this place. This pasta was sooooo good, I can almost taste it just looking at the picture. The chicken was also delicious and not dry which is common with most dishes.

Cucina Al Volo:

This place was in the Union Market, which I could probably live in. They have so many different shops in there that it’s hard to choose, but Al Volo was definitely the right choice (not that I didn’t try five other spots, which is besides the point). However, I got the Lamb Fusili which was amazing; you can really tell that the pasta was freshly made.

The Smith:

This was also an amazing restaurant that has a beautiful bar for drinks.

Here’s some other pictures I took on my trip! Let me know what you think and if you love D.C. too!
